Ash-worth Time Bank

Posted by Trinity Mirror Cheshire on March 7, 2008 8:50 AM

We are a charity (Big Lottery Funded) which started in 2003, to encourage rural people to share their skills and time with older members of the community. Membership is free as are all services and we also organise social groups, a monthly reminiscing group, art, reading, walking, luncheon groups and we have our very own lending library in our central office in Ashton Hayes. Membership is like having an insurance policy - you never know when you may need it!

We organise all sorts of job exchanges from lifts, companionship, letter writing, gardening, walking the dog and computer sills - the list endless! We also organise awaydays for members, as well as a Holistic Therapy Pamper Day for unpaid carers and people who have suffered a bereavement. We have members in ten rural Cheshire villages and are holding open evenings during 2008.

Have a Say on Your Health & Social Care!

Posted by Cheshire Community Voice on January 24, 2008 11:00 AM

Cheshire Community Voice are a local Northwich-based charity. We were set up in 2006 to ensure the people of Cheshire had the opportunity to get involved in improving the health and social care services that they receive.

We regularly hold focus groups, workshops, meeting and questionnaires about your local health and social care services. We have direct links to the service providers to ensure your message gets across.

We are always looking for new members. In order for us to best represent the people of Cheshire, it is essential that our membership is as large and diverse as possible.

As a member of CCV you will be kept up to date of the latest consultations and how to get involved. We may invite you to meetings or ask for your views via post, email and our new online forum. You only need contribute when it suits you.

Membership is free and we can tailor the information you receive to your particular areas of interest.

Cheshire Community Voice

Posted by Trinity Mirror Cheshire on January 23, 2008 8:55 AM

Our aim is to encourage the public serivce users and carers to participate in consultations and public engagement exercises on a variety of issues surrounding our Health and Social Care in Cheshire. We wholly believe that the people of Cheshire are the key to deciding what health and social care services are needed and how these should best be delivered. It is therefore essential that the public are given a say, and most importantly, heard, at every stage of the design, commissioning and delivery process. This allows the public bodies delivering our Health and Social Care services to make better-informed decisions and therefore improve the quality and delivery of these services.

The Mid Cheshire Community Rail Partnership was founded in 2003 and exists to engage communities in creative development projects in the railway environment along the Mid Cheshire Line (Chester to Manchester via Northwich). The Partnership is funded by several local authorities and railway industry partners. Our aim is to develop perceptions of railway stations as community assets. Greyhound Rescue West of England

Posted by Trinity Mirror Cheshire on December 11, 2007 9:39 AM

We are the Cheshire branch of GRWE and have been fundraising for approximately five years. We hold events locally and througout the Cheshire and Staffordshire areas. We have recently added Wirral to our list. We raise awareness and funds to help the charity rescue and rehabilitate abused and abandoned greyhounds. Greyhounds make wonderful pets as they are loving, loyal and gentle. So far this year we have re-homed 100 in this region. We are always looking for volunteers to help us fundraise at events. It's a great way to make new friends, develop a new interest or discover new skills whilst raising money for a worthwhile cause.
