Oxfam Chester, Frodsham street wants to say a big thank you to all our donors and customers for the massive success of the M&S Clothing Exchange. The £5 M&S voucher incentive has increased donations and the shop is truly bursting at the ‘seams’ (pun intended) with high-quality men and ladies fashion.
I would like to appeal to the style-savvy people of Chester to help us select the very best of the donations for sale in the shop. Volunteering for just a few hours a week could make a real difference, enough to pay for a vital medical kit for a midwife in India or seeds for a year’s crop for a family in Malawi!
Volunteering at Oxfam offers not only an interesting and varied experience but advice and support, training and your expenses reimbursed so you will not be out of pocket, not to mention the feel-good factor! There is arguably more skill and scope in working in an Oxfam shop than any other retail outlet in the high street because of the unpredictable nature of donations.
There are many areas where you could parade your flare for fashion including sorting, pricing and window design.
